Radio Laika – Nights Off

Radio Laika are a the talented alt-pop trio behind ‘Nights Off’. Singing “she only likes me when I’m sober”, the band tell a story through the perspective of someone different at a party. They talk about a lonely person, unsure of how to fit in. Intentionally, and most importantly, they’ve made this song easy to dance to, no matter how self-conscious you may feel.

PEAKS! are a Turin-based alt-rock duo with a powerful sound. Their ‘Fired Up’ single looks to explore how vulnerable and fragile humans can be. About the track, they say:

“Fired Up is about our mental health and how fragile we all are. In this specific case, the song portrays depression like a long-time friend that rears its ugly head from time to time, whilst we try to build a wall to avoid any kind of eye contact, we still pretend to act as ‘normal’’

ISLE – Waters

ISLE display a delicate, etheral tone in their new single ‘Waters’. The soundscape, cleverly, ebs and flows, like water. It’s a beautifully serene effort that presents a restless obsession with wanderlust. Said to resonate with the first signs of spring, this is a quietly powerful reflective piece for ‘troubled souls and anxious hearts’.

John Murray – I Refuse To Believe (You Could Love Me)

John Murray‘s ‘I Refuse To Believe (You Could Love Me)’ is an honest expression from the Mississippi-born artist. There’s a balance of sadness and humour, that is John’s very own take on what Ric Ocasek from The Cars may have experienced in his lifetime. The video touches upon feelings of alienation and a forceful distance from society.

daste. – holding on to you (feat. Uhkirra)

Inspired by massive acts like Bon Iver and Harry Styles, daste. have delivered a tale of aftermath. The lyrics follow a sad story of regret and loss after a relationship. ‘holding on to you’ feat Uhkirra is a slow, and somewhat reluctant realisation that you aren’t right for each other, no matter how painful that decision may be.

Josin – Traveller

Josin is an artist with growing brilliance. As a favrourite artist of Ólafur Arnalds, Josin shows unique expressive qualities in her equally unique crossover music. As an ode to her way of life, ‘Traveller’ is about finding true belonging after being utterly lost. As humans, we must feel connected to the world and the people around us, never alone.
