Polish death metallers Sarmat release new album RS-28 & lyric video

Sarmat

Polish death/black metallers Sarmat have released their debut album RS-28 and a lyric video. RS-28 Sarmat is a Russian super-heavy ballistic missile (known also as SATAN 2), the weapon of ultimate destruction.

RS-28 consists of eight songs lasting 33.5 minutes. These songs are a furious and aggressive mixture of death metal and black metal. The album is available in physical format (CD) and as digital on the band’s profile on Bandcamp. To spread the nuclear apocalypse more effectively the band has released the lyric video to the title song from their debut album. The band states about the song: “Welcome to The Cold War II!”

Sarmat was formed in 2018 by two guitarists: Daniel Szymanowicz (ex-Calm Hatchery, ex-Aggressor, ex-Extremis Necrosis) and Krzysztof Kopczeński (ex-Spirit Crusher, ex-Carnes). After forming the band, Daniel and Krysztof wrote the album in a short time period. To prepare recording, they invited Krzysztof Klingbein, the session drummer (known from Deathspawn and many session recordings for a number of bands).

The recording process lasted until the spring of 2020 year, when Łukasz Kobusiński (ex-Mortis Dei, ex-Puki ‘Mahlu) joined Sarmat, recording vocal parts to the lyrics. These vocal parts were recorded at Invent Sound Studio in Bydgoszcz, Poland by Szymon “Sigmar” Grodzki in summer 2020. Arkadiusz “Malta” Malczewski (Santa Studio in Warsaw, Poland) mixed and mastered the album. After searching for a label, the band decided to reach best results by self-releasing the album. The premiere was on 19 March 2021 (digital version available on band profile on Bandcamp).

The band name concept is based on the weapon of ultimate destruction – the Russian super-heavy intercontinental ballistic missile RS-28 SARMAT (also known as SATAN 2). Band lyrical themes are destruction, military industry and human fears and obsessions. Sarmat’s style is a mixture of death and black metal having dynamic character with a lot of fast parts, aggressive yet understandable vocal and compositions diversity.

Digital, CD & merchandise available via there band’s Bandcamp page.  The CD is also available here.”

Cats in Space reveal new compilation album “Diamonds – The Best Of Cats in Space”

Cats In Space

“REMIXED, REVAMPED…REMARKABLE” is the best way to describe this brand new compilation album from UK classic rockers CATS in SPACE. To be released this autumn, the 11 track clear vinyl LP and 14 track CD features the cream of the Cats’ catalogue but each song has been remixed and also re-vocaled by lead singer Damien Edwards. Amongst the grooves is an exclusive ‘live’ recording of the band’s epic anthem ‘Greatest Story Never Told’, which was the centrepiece of the band’s live stream concert recorded last year at KK’s Steel Mill in Wolverhampton. The CD contains a further three bonus tracks all taken from last year’s smash hit album ‘Atlantis’.

Ahead of the album release and in time for the band’s summer festivals and September tour, will be the single release of ‘Mr. Heartache’. The song that started the whole story in 2015, has been remixed and revamped with Damien’s vocals adding a brand new spin to this much loved classic track.

“Whilst we know only too well that ‘tinkering’ with songs loved by the fans can be seen as risky, we feel that it’s a fantastic way to move the band forward, especially as we look towards working in Europe. Promoting all of our back catalogue on an official release with the new line-up, establishes the fact that, post lockdown, the Cats are looking to a new future and planning into 2022 and beyond” ‘

Mr. Heartache’ will be available as a clear 7″ vinyl featuring the exclusive B-Side ‘Twilight’ and, in the fine tradition of never doing anything by halves, this vinyl will be available in not one but three different picture sleeves!

*** Release date is aimed for the beginning of September (date to be finalised due to ‘covid delays’)***

The band are already back in the studio recording the follow up to ‘Atlantis’, and preparing for their UK tour which kicks off on August 28th . Life in the world of CATS in SPACE is busier than ever!

REMIXED,REVAMPED, REMARKABLE!  MR HEARTACHE PREORDERS AVAILABLE FROM 9am BST on Cis WEBSTORE

Touch was the first band to play at the inaugural Monsters of Rock Festival at Castle  Donington in 1980 along with Rainbow, Scorpions, Judas Priest and Saxon. The original band have now reformed after almost 40 years to create the new album  “Tomorrow Never Comes“, which is already being hailed as their best work to date and  a triumphant return to their classic AOR sound. They have just released a lyric video for  their second single “Let It Come“. Electric Guitars release video & single “Dopamine!”

Electric Guitars

ELECTRIC GUITARS is more than ready for the reopening. “Dopamine” is the new single and video from Denmark’s most revered rock band. With it, the band sends a pure feeling of happiness to the concert-hungry fans. The single is the sound of cold draft beer, the hair back, and the guitar up to 11.

“We’re coming out with our fastest number ever because we’re SO ready for the scene to open again. We’re hungry like never before!” tells Mika Vandborg – one half of the guitar duo in front of Electric Guitars.

“Dopamine” is about the unbridled feeling of happiness that forces you out in search of the next fix. Whether it’s draft beer, speed, or rock music you can not let go, “Dopamine” ignites your urge for more.

“”Dopamine” is a solution-oriented song. Maybe it’s about a man who is addicted to sex…” laughs Mika Vandborg.

In this new track, advancing what’s to come in their future album, Electric Guitars’ double-charged guitar energy flows out of the speakers like a herd of trapped galloping horses on their first jump after a long winter. Bass and drums pump up the pulse so that it jerks the rock muscle.

“The song actually wrote itself. Søren and I sat and jammed to a beat we found on YouTube, and in no time the song was finished. Bang! So much energy we had built up. Right there we experienced that feeling of happiness that comes when everything just falls into place. And that’s the feeling the song is about”.

Søren Andersen – the other half of the guitar duo – elaborates: “We did what the song wanted – and we did not compromise. After nine years and four albums, we have never been closer to the core of our small orchestra. When others make barley themselves – burgers with honey, dipped strawberries and smart salad, we go for steak, bacon, cheese, and onions. That’s it!”

The Ellis Mano Band release new single “The Question” featuring Lachy Doley

Ellis mano Band

Swiss-based blues rock band Ellis Mano Band release their second single “The Question“, taken from the band’s forthcoming sophomore album “Ambedo” released Friday June 25th. Pre-save the single and pre-order the album HERE.

“The Question” features a guest appearance from Australian keyboard wiz Lachy Doley on Hammond B3 organ.

The band describe their trademark well-produced sound as “a sort of rock n’ soul, rooted deep down in the blues.”

“The Question is a true blues rock blaster,” says Edis Mano, the Ellis Mano Band’s guitarist. “It’s  like a tornado blowing through your barn, nearly lifting it of the ground. It describes the writer’s demons and the constant temptation of past substance abuse and dependency.”

In Switzerland, the Ellis Mano Band are not unlike the Wrecking Crew or the Funk Brothers. They are top-flight studio musicians and elites in the Swiss music scene. Although they spent years making music with other artists, the band members never got much time to make music of their own until now.

“We chose the album title “Ambedo” because it reflects the state of the process of recording an album,” says guitarist Edis Mano. “Ambedo” refers to the tendency both to reflect and to absorb. As musicians, we do its all the time, especially when we write new songs and create an album.”

Every track on the new album is rich with perfectly chosen detail including Chris Ellis’s rough voice, Edis Mano’s vintage sounding guitar playing, and the tight rhythm section of drummer Nico Looser and Severin Graf (bass). The album also features Hammond B3 organ, and horns that reflect the blazing summer heat during which they were recorded. The harmonious backing vocals are reminiscent of something you would hear from Muscle Shoals Studios.

“We would get together with just a few ideas, fill it out, let it grow, work on it, with a great passion,” says Chris. “For session musicians, it was not about having just another project to play on, but it was an opportunity for us to play as a real band again. It was a great feeling to see the guys together and getting emotional from time to time playing the music.”

The album was recorded at Edis Mano’s Studio E10 with a lot of vintage gear and instruments and produced with a contemporary sound. All songs were recorded live with just a few later overdubs, including backing vocals and horns.

Trucker Diablo release their new single and video ‘Slow Dance’

Trucker Diablo

TRUCKER DIABLO release their new single ‘Slow Dance‘ from forthcoming album “Tail End of a Hurricane“. A song about undeniable attraction and the magnetic force of love and lust!
The sun’s out, turn it up, share with friends and groups, buy the album… Drink Many Beers, Destroy.

This album takes a few diversions on the main road that the Big Truck normally drives on, the almost punk attitude and feel to ‘Insects’ with its social commentary on how we’re all just worker insects feeding everything to the corporate machine for them to steal our being. Closing track ‘Bury The Ocean’ was the last song written for the album, and its crushing guitar and build to an epic ending is a sitting reminder that while times are tough now, we will get out the other side of this situation!

The one thing you do expect from Trucker is big riffs, big choruses and big performances, and this album doesn’t disappoint, from the sing along Rock Kids of the 80s, the energy of Insects, the short sharp punch of ‘Slow Dance’ or the laid back tale, ‘Woodstock to Vietnam’, where 2 friends In the hippy movement of the 60s choose different pathways for their life, you’ll know you’ve opened your front door to see the Big Truck parked up outside, engine running, exhaust fumes pumping out the pipe, door laying open invitingly.

VIDEO PREMIERE: Sweden rockers Transport League release video clip for “Criminal Energy”

Transport League

Sweden rockers Transport League premiere the new video for the track “Criminal Energy“. It’s the first single off their new album, to be released in the Summer.

The band states: “The pandemic struck us hard just like it did to the whole music business & live scene.
At the end of April 2020 we decided to wrap up our songwriting sessions and drag ourselves into the studio.

We entered Grand Recordings and El Bastardo studio in our hometown Gothenburg. The engineering was handled by Dan Johansson (ex Mary Beats Jane & Generous Maria) and Henrik Danhage (El Bastardo Studio & Evergrey), we did the production ourselves but with advisory from both Dan J & Henrik D. Mixing was done by Svein Jensen (Grand Recordings), Mastering by Philip Granquist.”

The 11 tracks breathe a lot of live-take energy and with some moody breakdown tracks as well. Guest appearances, by Sal Abruscato (ex Type O Negative, A Pale Horse Named Death) on the track March, Kiss, Die and by Christian Sture (Heal) on Kaiserschnitt, fits like a glove. The album has a Transport League signature all over!

Groovy, energetic, catchy & with a lot of rock’n’roll references all over.

The first single Criminal Energy speaks for itself. Criminal Energy deals with powers within a human entity. The undisputed, unchained strength of abilities that guides the way to a better life and understanding which will and should be untamed.
