Golden Robot Records News: ToxicRose, Them Guns, Keith Cook

Swedish dark sleaze metallers ToxicRose recently released their latest single ‘Domination’ in March 2021. Now, they’re following it up with a brand new single ‘Outta Time’, set for release on June 28th via Crusader Records.

‘Outta Time’, the fourth single from Swedish metal band ToxicRose, is a heavy track filled with melodic hooks that thematically dives into the darkness inside a person’s mind.

ToxicRose delivers that classic Swedish trash glam metal sound that they have become a world leader in. ToxicRose heavily appeals to fans of fellow Swedes Crazy Lixx, Hardcore Superstar, Crashdiet, and bands like Wildstreet, Black Veil Brides and Escape The Fate.

Pre-Save/Pre-Order to ‘Outta Time’ HERE

‘Shot in the Dark’ is the catchy new single out now from synth rockers THEM GUNS, who recently signed with powerhouse record label Golden Robot Records. With bright synths, heavy guitars and a melody to die for, ‘Shot In The Dark’ is sure to grab the attention of a multi-genre horde of listeners.

“‘Shot in the Dark’ is about finding a way through life and figuring things out as they happen, because there’s no playbook.” – Navarone Garcia (lead singer/guitarist)

Their eclectic style, although completely unique in their own right, can be deemed a blend of influences from artists like LCD Sound System, Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, Tool, Faith No More, Korn, Ghost, Slipknot and Deadsy. ‘Shot in the Dark’ is out now on all digital platforms!

Listen/Buy ‘Shot in the Dark’ HERE

Keith Cook recently signed to Riot Records (part of the Golden Robot Global Entertainment Group) and has now released his new single ‘Never Equate’, available on all digital platforms.

Keith was the guitarist for the protopunk band Debris’, with whom he was included in a history exhibit covering the notable rock and rollers from their home state of Oklahoma.

‘Never Equate’ featuring Dave Foster, a one time member of Nirvana on drums and recorded by legendary grunge producer Steve Fisk, is the first single from Keith Cook’s solo album Rock & Roll Riot. Cook worked in the tradition of two guitars, bass and drums as pioneered by his relative Buddy Holly, with riffs drawing from punk, hardcore, metal & noise. He played through Hagstrom guitars, vintage tube Supro amps (like Led Zeppelin used), Big Muff distorted bass plus a massive Melvins style drum kit. ‘Never Equate’ gives you the unmistakable sound of Pacific Northwest rock music in a stripped down anthemic tune about telling mother**kers to go f**k themselves.

PSSR (featuring Guns N’ Roses’ Frank Ferrer) release new single and lyric video ‘She’s All Right’

After emerging in late 2019, PSSR (featuring superstar Guns N’ Roses drummer Frank “Thunderchucker” Ferrer) released their debut single ‘Busted’ (featuring Richard Fortus). This was followed by two equally NYC rock flavoured tracks ‘Last Time’ and ‘Push’.

Now, after a stint in hibernation, PSSR are back with their first new music of 2021 – their new single and lyric video ‘She’s All Right‘, available now on all digital platform via Golden Robot Records. It’s another classic stomping rock track that is true to the tradition of what NYC rock is all about.

With rollicking guitars and huge cymbals crashing down over the chorus, ‘She’s All Right’ is a song about… yep, you guessed it – a girl. A girl whose place in PSSR’s life didn’t work at the time. It wasn’t her fault, but eventually it was time to go. No hard feelings – ‘She’s All Right’. PSSR  -pure rock ‘n’ roll.

PSSR are rounded out by the charismatic Eric J on vocals and guitar, rocking bassist Brett Bass (Greg Allman), and tied up by journeyman lead guitarist/producer Rob Bailey (everyone from Delta Goodrem to David Johansen).

He has been coming to Bluesfest since 1999 and returns in October for his 8th appearance.

He’s shared the stage with the who’s who of Australian musical talent – and every performance is special. We are super-excited to see our ‘national treasure’ Paul Kelly back on the Bluesfest stage this October. NEW MUSIC: Steve Hackett announces release of new album “Surrender of Silence”

Steve Hackett

Legendary guitarist Steve Hackett, releases his new studio rock album Surrender of Silence on 10th September 2021, via Inside Out Music. The album features 11 new songs as Steve Hackett has been working hard through Lockdown and, the first time, has completed two studio albums for release within the same year!

Hot on the heels of his classical-acoustic travelogue Under A Mediterranean Sky, which was released in January and hit Number 2 in the UK Classical Album Chart, Surrender of Silence is a further exploration of Hackett’s love of world music, discovering different sounds, moods and textures to deliver a rock album of extraordinary variety, power and beauty.

As with Under A Mediterranean Sky, Surrender of Silence was also recorded during Lockdown and, again, Hackett has called upon some of his musical friends from across the world to contribute. Hackett’s regular touring band of Roger King (keyboards, programming and orchestral arrangements), Rob Townsend (sax, clarinet), Jonas Reingold (bass), Nad Sylvan (vocals) and Craig Blundell (drums) are supplemented by Phil Ehart and Nick D’Virgilio (drums), the vocal talents of Amanda Lehmann, Durga and Lorelei McBroom, Christine Townsend (violin, viola), Malik Mansurov (tar) and Sodirkhon Ubaidulloev (dutar).

This new album is full-on electric…

“Lockdown cobwebs are blown away in one fell-swoop here!” says Steve Hackett. “With the monster rhythm section of Jonas, Craig, Nick and Phil along with Rob’s soaring sax and bass clarinet, Nad, Amanda and myself on vocals, Roger’s darkly powerful organ and my guitar, we plunge full-pelt into that wild release of energy.”

Our journey takes us from the classical orchestrations of Russia (Natalia) to the plains of Africa (Wingbeats) to mysterious Eastern shores (Shanghai To Samarkand), all via the ocean’s depths (Relaxation Music for Sharks (featuring feeding frenzy)). The Devil’s Cathedral pools the talents of Hackett’s entire touring band and features King’s atmospheric Gothic organ and a powerhouse rhythm display from Blundell and Reingold.

Hackett’s vocals have never been bettered and his duet with Amanda Lehmann adds emotion to Scorched Earth a lament for the environmental horrors facing our planet. Throughout Hackett’s guitars add a rich tapestry of colour with soaring solos and intricate weaving melodies.

“It’s a ‘no holds barred’ album,” adds Hackett, “riding that wave, unleashing those demons, dreams and nightmares, all crashing together over the shore.

“I enjoyed the power of this album allowing my guitar to scream in joy and rage… and once again flying across those oceans to distant lands. It’s terrific to connect creatively with musicians from far flung places, particularly when we’ve all been unable to meet. We all have a voice in our cacophony of sound and we cry out together in the Surrender of Silence!”

Steve Hackett “Surrender of Silence” track listing:

1. The Obliterati (02:17)
2. Natalia (06:17)

VIDEO: Pain release music video for new single “Party In My Head”

PAIN, the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer Peter Tägtgren, has revealed the band’s first original song in 5 years: “Party In My Head“!
Blending ’80s synth, electro, and metal, PAIN delivers one hell of an anthem providing a powerful sonic vaccine against the distress and depression caused by the worldwide pandemic.

Peter Tägtgren comments, “I decided to write a song about all the bullshit from the last year of lock-up and people’s struggle, including my own, to adapt to the new way of life. Suddenly, all of us had to deal with our inner selves in our secluded new life, so this is the cheer-up song for people. Each of us has our own party in our head. Musically, it’s a hell of a party song. I can’t wait to play it live.”

The video features a guest appearance by Joe Lynn Turner  (RAINBOW, YNGWIE J. MALMSTEEN, DEEP PURPLE) and the return of the Alien from PAIN’s biggest hit, “Shut Your Mouth”. Join the party now and watch the music video for “Party In My Head”, below.

Don’t miss the after-party with Peter and the band at 11:00 am Pacific | 8:00 pm CEST on Instagram Live.

Enjoy some even sweeter cocktails in the sun while shaking your hips to “Burn For Me” from THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA! Alongside this fantastic feel good song, the band serves a fantastic video today that will put a huge smile on your face.

The band states:”‘Burn For Me’ is a song about the first day of summer. And the fact that that particular day might also be the last. A Motown beat filtered through the bloodshot eyes of melancholic Swedes, a gentle reminder that whenever you feel an inkling of a sensation that might erupt into fire, you should just give in and let yourself burn.

Guided by voices and spirited away by demons, THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA are happy to provide you with the soundtrack to this summer’s passions and heartaches. Let’s get lost in the eternity of now.”

THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA released their last album “Aeromantic” in February 2020 via Nuclear Blast Records. The highly lauded masterpiece featuring the singles ‘Divinyls’ and ‘Transmissions’ made it to #13 in German album charts.

Nuclear Blast News: Nightwish, Go Ahead And Die, Enslaved, Therion

NIGHTWISH reawaken their most famous album “Once” as remastered version, GO AHEAD AND DIE Release Music Video For Self Titled Single, ENSLAVED release ‘Sacred Horse’ live video/single, THERION release music video for “Eye Of Algol” from their latest album “Leviathan”.

“Once I had a dream, and this is it”.

This is the opening line of an album that would change the lives of some young Finnish musicians with fire in their hearts and an ocean full of sweet music in their souls. An album that would also influence thousands of people all over the world for years to come. “Once”, NIGHTWISH‘s fifth studio album saw the light of day on June 7th 2004 – it changed the metal world completely and made the band living legends.

Today, NIGHTWISH pay tribute to the manifesto that they gifted the world 18 years ago, announcing a re-release of “Once” as a remastered version with bonus tracks in the different formats.
Pre-order your copy of “Once” (Remastered) here:

Maestro Tuomas Holopainen states: “Nostalgia is a powerful tool. I easily remember what those days surrounding the release of the record were like. The excitement, the ambition, the comradeship, the triumphant tour to come, it was all there, about to carry the band to another level, musically and journey wise.”

Arizona’s GO AHEAD AND DIE is proud to release its self-titled debut album via Nuclear Blast Records. GO AHEAD AND DIE is a raw, urgent, unrelenting, thrillingly shocking, and vibrant new band. In celebration of the release, the band offers fans the music video for ‘G.A.A.D’ which features a news broadcast from Ice T.

Max Cavalera comments, “Pissed off! Angry! Unapologetic! Raw! This album is what happens when greed and injustice take over. We must use our music as a weapon!”

Igor Amadeus states, “G.A.A.D.’ is the anthem to this album and to these f***ed up times. A middle finger to those in control, those that decide who lives and who dies.”

Watch the video for ‘G.A.A.D.’ directed by Jim Louvau, HERE.

Norway’s progressive metal legends Enslaved have travelled a long way since their origins in the extreme black metal scene of the early 1990s. This week sees them premiere a new live video performance of ‘Sacred Horse’, taken from their forthcoming package of live releases, Cinematic Tour 2020, out June 25th. For Enslaved, this performance represents a cherished career zenith, unapologetically translating their extreme metal roots into grandiose psychedelia.

‘Sacred Horse’ (live) is taken from their upcoming Cinematic Tour 2020 recording: The Rise of Ymir (Verftet Online Festival 2020). Despite being locked down in space, Enslaved take us on a tour through time, with classic tracks and fan favourites resurrected and revitalised by a formidable and accomplished live performance.

Many great bands struggle to walk the hard road between artistic evolution and staying true to themselves, but on ‘Sacred Horse’ and The Rise of Ymir, Enslaved show how inspired composition and musicianship can bring an audience along with them, from the most abrasive depths to the most absorbing heights extreme metal has to offer.

Enslaved’s Grutle Kjellson commented, “Sacred Horse is probably one of our proudest moments in our now three-decade long career, and that song pretty much sums up what Enslaved is all about; energy. A very aggressive song, yet also dynamic and mellow. Besides, it’s always a delightful experience to perform it on stage and to see how our audience absorbs it and enjoys it. We’ve even seen people crying at the front row while playing this song, and of course beholding our fans unleashing such emotions, really lifts the whole experience to a pretty much divine level! Obviously, performing it without an audience at an online show wasn’t an easy task, but the memories of our previous endeavours playing it alongside our fans, got us through. Thanks for watching!”

Watch ‘Sacred Horse’ (live) video here

THERION‘s seventeenth Studio album, “Leviathan,” was released on January 22nd, 2021, and proved to be another big success for the symphonic metal pioneers. It has entered world-wide album sales charts peaking at #8 (Rock & Metal) in the UK, at #11 in Germany and #14 (physical) in Sweden, only to name a few.

Today, THERION are proud to release another music video for a track taken off of “Leviathan” called “Eye Of Algol”. It refers to the ‘demon star’ Algol (“al-ġūl” means “the demon” in Arabic), a multiple star consisting of 3 separate stars that has an ominous connotation in astrology and is also referenced in the works of H.P. Lovecraft. The video features performances by both the female and the male lead singers whose voices can be heard in the song, Rosalía Sairem & Thomas Vikström, as well as mythical creatures, blood, fire & swordfights, picking up where its predecessors, “Tuonela” and “Die Wellen der Zeit,” left off.
