Cruise to the Edge 2022 artist lineup revealed with Marillion, Alan Parsons, Transatlantic, & Al DiMeola headlining

Cruise To The Edge, progressive rock’s largest festival at sea is set to return in 2022 with it’s biggest cruise ever! The official artist lineup has been announced and includes the largest number of acts to sail the prog seas. The 5-night cruise sails from Port Canaveral, Florida, May 2nd – 7th, 2022, aboard the Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas visiting the Private Isle of Labadee and the Perfect Day at CocoCay. Reservations will reopen next Wednesday, June 9th, at Noon Eastern.

Headlined by prog legends Marillion, Alan Parsons, Transatlantic and Al DiMeola, the event features some of the world’s greatest prog-rock musical artists. The lineup also includes returning acts Riverside, Saga, The Flower Kings, Adrian Belew, Haken, Pendragon and many more, alongside debuts by Al Stewart, King’s X, McStine and Minnemann, Pattern-Seeking Animals, and more.  The Prog Report’s Roie Avin and long-time CTTE host Jon Kirkman will host the event.

Beyond the sun, fun, and exquisite dining, there will be artist/cruiser photo experiences, Q&A sessions, special theme nights and other events designed to optimize the artist/fan experience. This year will once again feature the unprecedented CTTE Late Night Live, where fans can sign up to showcase their own musical talents.

The newly amped up Mariner of the Seas is packed with more ways to play on the most maxed-out short getaway ever. When the sun goes down, the night heats up with epic prog performances on stages throughout the vessel. Combined with some of the best food and service afloat, Cruise to the Edge is truly the greatest prog-rock show on earth and is a can’t-miss event for prog enthusiasts throughout the world.

Glass Hammer announce NFT Drop and new lead vocalist

Glass Hammer have announced an NFT Drop, making them the first prog act to do so. The NFT (non-fungible token) is available on Glass Hammer’s Marketplace on OpenSea: https://opensea.io/collection/glass-hammer

The follow-up album to Dream City is tentatively titled Skallagrim – Into The Breach and is being teased uniquely as the NFT (non-fungible token) on OpenSea. Ten NFT’s will be minted of a pre-release mix of the track “Anthem To Andorath,” featuring Hannah Pryor as lead vocalist. Hannah made her first appearance with Glass Hammer on last fall’s “A Matter Of Time,” released exclusively on the Glass Hammer website.

“Only ten of these will ever be released,” explains GH co-founder Steve Babb. “The song will show up on the album, of course, but not in this form. The purchasers will find their names listed in the credits of our new album, and there may be other goodies attached as well. We’re really just learning about NFTs, but they’re very interesting as a new way to sell music, not only to crypto-collectors who may have never heard of Glass Hammer but to prog-rock collectors and superfans who’d like to own something truly exclusive.”

Glass Hammer is not new to the notion of exclusive collectibles. Babb explains, “Our very first album (1993’s Journey Of The Dunadan) was first sold as a collectible—a limited edition art print and a gold foil CD on QVC, giving us a massive amount of exposure early on. Though I think it’s too early to say whether or not NFTs will change the music business, it still makes sense for Glass Hammer to make our music available wherever it can be sold.”

Glass Hammer release new collection of reworked tracks called ‘A Matter of Time’

Glass Hammer have just release a new collection titled A Matter of Time. The album sees founders Steve Babb (vocals, bass, keyboards) and Fred Schendel (vocals, keyboards, guitars) picking their favorite songs from the band’s nineties catalog; reimagining and re-recording those songs from the ground up.

Featured are Aaron Raulston (drums) with guest appearances by Hannah Pryor (vocals), Reese Boyd (guitar – Lliusion & Song Of The Dunadan), Walter Moore (vocals: The Mayor Of Longview, Heaven – vocals & guitar: On To Evermore, Junkyard Angels), and Dave Bainbridge (guitar: Heaven).

“We’re currently writing material for a new concept album, a follow-up to this year’s Dreaming City, but decided a brief detour to revisit these older songs would be fun for us and our fans. It’s something we’ve talked about doing for some time.

We know long-time fans are sentimental about our first albums, and even though our sound and style have evolved a lot over the last several years, we haven’t turned our backs on these classic songs. It has been very rewarding to rediscover them all over again.”

A MATTER OF TIME is currently available only at The Glass Hammer Store as a download. www.glasshammer.com

1. Lliusion 8:57
2. Shadows Of The Past 2:46
3. Something’s Coming 3:25
4. Song Of The Dunadan 8:34
5. The Return Of The King 6:41
6. Domain Walls 4:43
7. Felix The Cat 2:31
8. The Mayor Of Longview 5:21
9. On To Evermore 6:22
10. Junkyard Angels 9:11
